Don't just sit back and watch
the time go by. Augusta is located in the heart of the Southeast, so
grab a buddy and take a road trip. You don't have homework (and trust
me, you don't need to study) so there isn't any reason to stick around for a
weekend.
If you think you want to stay in Augusta to check out the city--don't
bother. You'll eventually have a weekend where you don't have a place
to go and you'll be able to see Augusta at that time.

Here are the best places to go.
Definite Must-Go Trips:
where to stay: Priceline a hotel room. With any luck,
you'll be staying at the Marriot or the Sheraton, which are right next
to the Casino on the river. These hotels are only a short
walk/crawl from the Bourbon Street nightlife.
where to go: Harrah's Casino,
Tulane, BOURBON STREET.
Warning: Don't stray too far down Bourbon Street or you'll find
yourself among people of an alternative lifestyle.
what to do: gamble, act rowdy, and
drink your face off. Don't bother buying any beads, there are
more than enough to go around and you shouldn't find it hard to get a
few nice ones. Check out the Tropical Isle and order up a
few hand grenades. The Bourbon Street Blues Company
(BBC) is a good place to hang out and have fun. Their
balcony is readily accessible, just don't throw anything at
pedestrians (unless you're really sly like me, you'll get kicked out).
There are tons of bars and clubs to choose from, and plenty of people
just walking down the street with a drink in their hands. It
really is one giant party.
other: Don't forget to get some
good Cajun food while you're there!
$$: Beer, especially in 32oz. cups,
is cheap. Drinks at the various bars aren't bad either.
But bring plenty of money because you'll be buying drinks all night
long.

where to stay: Stay at the Hyatt at all costs.
You should be able to priceline a room there. The hotel is right
on the riverwalk so you can take the elevator down, walk 50m, and be
in a bar. You can't beat the location.
where to go: Savannah's riverwalk,
City Market Square, Tybee Island (beach).
what to do: Stroll down the
riverwalk with a cold beer on a hot summer day. Make sure you
visit Savannah before it starts to get cold so you can enjoy the
walking up and down the riverwalk. There are a ton of bars along
the riverwalk and in the City Market Neighborhood. If you just
want to drink beers and watch college football, try visiting the
Warehouse. Enjoy the warm summer air and stroll into any of
the bars and pubs along the riverwalk. While there, stop by a
candy store and try some candied pecans--they're absolutely delicious.
Head over to City Market Square for the live band, and while you're
there stop by at Vinnie's for some great pizza. If you
stay at the Hyatt, all off these places are within stumbling distance
of your hotel room. Make sure you visit Smiles, a great
dueling piano bar right down the street from the Hyatt.
other: Savannah has a huge St.
Patrick's Day celebration (second only to New York City). Also
make sure you eat some fresh seafood while you're in town.
$: Drinks aren't bad, and the food
is fairly priced. Savannah is no more expensive than any other
city.

where to stay: Beach house.
where to go: Broadway at the
Beach.
what to do: Shopping, clubbing,
and of course enjoy the beach. For the nightlife, visit Froggy
Bottomz (live music and dance rooms--3 clubs, one cover), and
Club Boca (one big dance party), both located in Broadway at the
Beach.
other: Enjoy the seafood!
$$$: Bring your money, because
you'll need it.

where to stay: Priceline a room in Nashville's downtown
area. If you're lucky, you'll get a room at the Marriot
Doubletree. It is located in the heart of downtown, right in the
thick of things.
where to go: Second Avenue is
where you want to be.
what to do: Bars, clubs, and
country music--that's what Nashville is all about. There are a
ton of live bands so if you like live entertainment, Nashville is the
place to go. There are a bunch of great bars in the downtown
area and you'll have a good time at any one of them. Kick back
and play pool at Buffalo Billiards. If you're looking for
clubs, then I would recommend you go to Graham Central Station
and Bar Nashville. Graham Central sports two dance clubs
and a karaoke bar, while Bar Nashville is just a big room with girls
dancing on the bars.
other: Check out a honky-tonk bar
(such as the Wild Horse Saloon) while you're in the capital
city of country music.
$$: Beer is reasonably priced, but
the shots will burn a hole in your wallet.
