French Embassy. I sent them this:
We Americans don’t forget how
France waited to see the probable outcome of our Revolutionary War before
they gave us aid. We do not forget that we had to push Cornwallis to the
shores of the Atlantic before the feckless French finally came through with
the aid they promised. We do not forget just a few years after that---we had
to fight a naval battle with them.
We do not forget the lives lost because of the cowardly self-serving Vichy French—the French who saw Hitler coming down the road, and then became Nazis. It seems the French are the original “turncoats”. I suspect their clothing is reversible. How NOT chic. Don’t wear white shoes after the first week of September, and don’t wear your country’s uniform when your enemy approacheth… gag. So I am not surprised that the French said that if after we spill OUR blood in spite of their opposition and subterfuge, they will be only happy to ride to the rescue. Typical… typical and indicative. The French cannot be trusted. As General Patton said, “"I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me." When one considers the true motives of the French government lurking behind their not so clever façade of love for humanity, once again, one sees the wide streak of yellow that has throughout history ran down most of France’s back since long before the King Louies. Any Frenchman worth a damn was from Normandy, and we must note that they were not true French, but Vikings—Norsemen who came to France and had their way with the women. Should we be surprised? Most of the courageous Frenchmen have been pirates, rogues, and tyrants---Napoleon being one example. And even HE was driven by a self-serving megalomania. And so what Mark Twain said of France must be true: “France has usually been governed by prostitutes.” When I consider France, I cannot help but recall a rhyme my mother used to tell me about little piggies who did not want to do the dirty work… “…and THIS little piggy went ‘oui, oui, oui’—all the way home. France typically wants to lick the icing, but does not want to bake the cake. And to that I say—LET THEM EAT CAKE!
